Apophysis Z Plugin Pack by cothe Apophysis Z Plugin Pack by cothe
Taken from the PDF:
This pack includes 22 DLL files, each containing a single variation. The files work as plugins for Apophysis 2.06 Beta (and higher versions). Together, these make up all of the variations found in the Z+C++ mods of Apo 2.05, sans the Split variation and the original Foo variation, with a couple of surprises along the way.

Any idea where I could find all the older versions after version 2.02 and up through 208 beta 2?

I can't find the page at Sourceforge any longer. :sadangel:

You put it in the plugins folder. If you don't have one already then make one called plugins with the rest of the apophysis stuff.

I've downloaded this. I dont mind switching out plugin's in my plugin's folder, but how many plugins can I have in Apophysis at any given time? 30? And which ones from the original set of plugins do you suggest I keep or replace with these?

:+favlove: I like the Move and the Square variations, and I did not have them until I saw this plugin pack. You even make a PDF file explaining the mathematical functions... :faint: Which makes me thinking - is it possible that you could copy the variation's formula and use it in another fractal program...?

Thank you... :thanks:

Having read this info before downloading and installing them I went through the z dll plug-ins one at a time and found these are the ones that caused errors:
zflower, zpopcorn2, Zsecant, ZTile

I moved the defective one out of the plugin folder after each test and restarted apophysis (version 2.06c) with no problems, then went on to the next in the list and intentionally did what people said they were doing when the error occurred.

It is explained in the PDF document.

Thank you for posting and sharing these! Would you please recheck the sources and/or be sure the dlls are compiled with the correct version? I, like LadyLyonnesse, am getting access violations with the Zplugins. I took into account your message to not have too many transforms in the plugins folder and still had the errors. I had to totally remove all the Zplugins in order to use Apo. I also uninstalled, reinstalled, and flushed out all registry entries for Apo.
Thank you for taking the time to look into this!
hikesouth Featured By Owner Aug 15, 2007
The errors appear when moving the transform triangles or gradients while the flame is still updating in the preview window. After closing the error dialog, the application acts as though the left mouse button is still depressed and the transform moves as the mouse is slid.

In addition to the access violation errors, I have gotten the "Cannot open file C: blah blah.undo, the file is being used by another process." This occurred when releasing the mouse button after moving a transform. I was not using undo.

Exception EInvalidPointer also occurred followed again by a mouse stick. The Access Violations occur in both read and write addresses and point to Z modules that are not necessarily attached to active transforms in use.

Including the defaults, I had 53 variations functioning properly at one time. They became disfunctional only when ZPlugins were in use. Keeping the same number of 53, I swapped a ZPlugin with a non-ZPlugin, the errors occurred. The Z modules Parabola, AMW, Blade, Circle, Conic, Popcorn2, Disc2, and Tangent were reported in the exception errors. Remove the Z Plugins, the exceptions go away.

I hope this can be resolved as these are wonderful additions to Apo. If you need any other info... system, etc., please let me know. Thank you! Diane

For the future, reinstalling and uninstalling Apo does nothing in the way of fixing any problems that plugins will cause, thus all you need to do is flush out the registry.

How many plugins have you been able to get to work at one time? One thing that I haven't taken into account is how Apo might have trouble handling plugins while working under different system constraints, and so this might be effecting it.

My recommendation is to simply try one plugin at a time and see if you can get things to work at all. Please keep me updated on how things are working, because if this turns out to be a serious error I would like to fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll do some serious testing and get back to you ASAP.

I downloaded this file today and keep getting an error message in both 2.06c and 2.06bzplus..

Access violation at address 004C0156 in module 'Apophysis206c.exe'. Read of address 0000000D.

I have to use C/A/D to close the programs. I have uninstalled and re-installed. The problem isn't happening with the other version I use i.e. Apophysis205beta2zplus_cplus_r5. I had no problems until today, when I downloaded your Apo Z Plugin Pack. I have deleted those files from my plugin folder and everything seems to be back to normal.
Any ideas, please?

Have you tried only using some of the plugins? In the past I have received a similar message when using all of the plugins and running 2.06 Beta Z+, however I have never seen anything like this. Have you had any kind of continuing problem after you've removed them all, or is it exclusively when they are in there?
LadyLyonnesse Featured By Owner Aug 13, 2007
Hi, Gregory (ooh, my new grandson's name!)
The problem vanished after I removed them from the plugin folder, but I haven't had time to go through them one at a time. I will get to this, though, and let you know if there are any specific causees of the error message.

Good work, but it would be necessary that you take the good sources files, because I have same the errors with your dll' s, that when the problem report and files undo are not regulated.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, however these plugins were created with the good source files.
